AKN Clear Skin Peel: For Mild to Moderate Acne, Oiliness & Congestion

The AKN Clear Skin Peel is a targeted resurfacing treatment for mild to moderate acne, congestion, and excess oil production. It uses a triple-acid blend of pyruvic, salicylic, and mandelic acid to gently exfoliate, clear pores, reduce breakouts, and balance oil—without causing flaking or compromising the barrier.

This peel is ideal for clients who experience regular breakouts, bumpy texture, or oil imbalance but still want to protect their skin’s integrity.

 What It Does:

This treatment helps to:

• Dissolve surface build-up and decongest pores
• Calm active breakouts and inflammation
• Reduce oiliness without stripping the skin
• Improve tone, texture, and post-acne clarity
• Prevent new breakouts with progressive, non-traumatic exfoliation 

How It’s Delivered:

The skin is cleansed and prepped with Clinisept. A thin layer (or two) of the AKN Peel is applied and left to work for a controlled duration. You may feel a light tingle or heat sensation—this is normal and subsides quickly.

After the peel is neutralised and removed, post-care products are applied to calm, hydrate, and protect the skin. This is a no-flake peel—you’ll notice improvement without visible peeling or shedding. 

Key Ingredients in AKN Peel & How They Work:

• Pyruvic Acid – Reduces sebum production, refines skin texture, and targets bacterial activity in the follicles
• Salicylic Acid – Penetrates into pores to dissolve oil, prevent blockages, and reduce inflammation
• Mandelic Acid – Gentle AHA with anti-inflammatory benefits, helps reduce surface pigmentation and improve clarity

This combination works across all acne types—blackheads, whiteheads, inflammatory spots, and post-acne roughness—while remaining respectful to the skin’s barrier.

Who It’s Not Suitable For:

This treatment is not suitable for clients who are currently taking Roaccutane (oral isotretinoin) or have taken it in the past 3 months.

It is also not suitable for:

• Skin with open lesions, broken pustules, or active infection
• Recently waxed, dermaplaned, or peeled skin
• Severely impaired or sensitised skin
• Recent sunburn or unprotected sun exposure
• Pregnancy, breastfeeding 

How to Prep & Aftercare:

Before Treatment:

• Stop acids, exfoliants, and retinoids at least 5 days before
• Avoid facial waxing, dermaplaning, or other peels for 7+ days
• No sunbeds, direct sun exposure, or heat-based treatments pre-appointment

 After Treatment:

• Avoid active skincare (retinoids, exfoliants, benzoyl peroxide) for 5–7 days
• No sweating, steam, or exercise for 48 hours
• Do not pick or exfoliate skin post-treatment
• Use non-comedogenic hydration and broad-spectrum SPF daily
• Redness or warmth may occur briefly and is completely normal
